Elegant Bridal Expo Springfield Illinois Bridal Show

As part of our efforts to reach out to brides to educate them about our wedding photography services, we took part in the Elegant Bridal Expo last weekend at the Hilton, downtown Springfield Illinois 62703.

One of the cool new people we met was Lisa from The Old Homestead, an old historic barn in Rushville that was turned into a wedding venue. Check out their website, and also photos we took at a barn wedding last fall (below).

Thanks to Hamilton’s Catering for the yummy sandwiches! They have been especially busy lately, helping some of the brides who lost their dates and deposits when the Camelot Banquet Center in Springfield closed. Hamilton’s not only has the 110 North East banquet facility in Jacksonville, but they also manage bookings for facilities in Springfield (in addition to catering events all over Central Illinois).
Thanks to Girls in White Satin Bridal and Formal Wear for helping us get our wall and other supplies over to Springfield.

Now, here’s those photos from Katie & Zach’s wedding in Iowa City, Iowa. Zach’s family hails from Jacksonville, and wanted us to photograph their wedding – so we went out west to Iowa for the weekend. They had a Quaker wedding at the Friends Meeting House in town, then a reception at the family’s farm near the Riverside Casino & Golf Resort. The day featured craft beers, antiques from Zach’s mom, catering from New Pioneer Food Co-Op, dining in an outdoor tent, dancing in a historic barn, and capped off with a bonfire.

Springfield Illinois wedding photos by Warmowski Photography

One of our highlights from last year was when Amanda, whose wedding we photographed in the summer, took the microphone at the Springfield Local Favorites Bridal Bash at Northfield Inn and Suites and told all the brides what great photos and service she received from us. She said she didn’t have to worry about photos at all, and had a great time with us on her wedding day. Thanks Amanda!

Amanda and Luke had their ceremony at South Side Christian Church, 2600 S. MacArthur Boulevard, Springfield, IL 62704. Reception at Firefighters Postal Lake Club on Lake Springfield with catering by Hamilton’s Catering.

Part of the plans for our Springfield professional wedding photography was to photograph the couple on the running trail in Centennial Park where they met. With temperatures over 100° – we took a quick photo then jumped in the air-conditioned limo and headed to their health club for fun photos with the wedding party.

Wedding photography at Jacksonville Bridal Expo

Great to have been a part of the Jacksonville Main Street Bridal & Prom Expo this past weekend at Hamilton’s 110 North East. So nice to be able to meet brides and have time to talk in a relaxed atmosphere about our central Illinois professional wedding photography.

Jeff’s Country Smokehouse option for rehearsal dinners and more

Saw an article in The Source newspaper about delicious smoked meats from Jeff Hurrelbrink of rural Jacksonville. We used to work with his wife, Gina, at the Jacksonville Journal-Courier (where we were photographers for about a decade before concentrating on wedding photography). They’re great people, and now they are expanding their kitchen and their catering.

Jeff’s Country Smokehouse serves a variety of dishes, such as pulled pro, briskets, cheesy potatoes and the like. Katie & Jack’s caterers – 5 Flavors

5 Flavors did a great job catering Katie & Jack’s July 2 wedding at Erin’s Pavilion at Springfield’s Southwind Park. Not only was the food good, the service was great and the decor from 5 Flavors’ partner Signature Event Rental, was beautiful.

Thrifty Sisters Catering

Looking for an option for catering for a rehearsal dinner, wedding shower or other small event? Went to a volunteer appreciation party for volunteers to Jubilee Habitat for Humanity at The Old Rectory, and guests were well taken care of by Thrifty Sisters Catering. Sisters Karen Douglas & Sue Tapscott merge family recipes with new ideas for fun events. (Sue and her husband Joe also taught us to swing dance!)

We’ve made two trips to the Chicago area for weddings in the past three weekends, and just wanted to make a compilation of some wedding tips and vendors contacts . . .

For our Lake Zurich, Illinois wedding we came across some awesome food from “Something’s Cooking” Ltd of Des Plaines. Chef Ken Larsen and Chef Jim Pascolla offer custom catering and events, and cooked up shish kebobs, tri-colored ravioli and macaroni & cheese that everyone was raving about. Neat thing about the food was it didn’t have to be hot to be good (guests nibbled all night long). Web link above of 847.298.5002.
For our wedding in Arlington Heights / Palatine / Schaumburg we were quite impressed at the offerings of Hotel Bollero (recently renamed from Hotel Indigo). The meal was very high class, staff very attentive – a nice boutique hotel. Options for bridal shower menu, rehearsal dinner, day-after brunch (Quinceañera, too!) 847.359.6900. Fantastic food … honestly!

Anne and Loren were married at Prairie Production in Chicago on Saturday, April 23, 2011. Their caterer was Honest Foods. The food was not only delicious – but beautiful as well! Check out the hors d’oeuvres as well as the dinner stations: 3 kinds of mashed potatoes, vegetables and meat.
