Overall view of Artisans Building for Michelle & Jordan's New Year's Eve wedding.

Following up from the New Year’s Eve wedding of Michelle & Jordan at the Artisans Building at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, Michelle sent a thank you card and said we could post . . .

“We don’t even know where to begin to say thank you for all you did. You both are truly amazing, talented people and I am so glad I went to Northfield that weekend and met you. We were so thankful to even find a photographer willing to do 12-31 and for it to be you, we will always be grateful! We honestly could not have dreamed of more.

“Thank you for working with our crazy schedules to arrange engagement photos . . . and for celebrating our special day with us. It turned out to be a beautiful day and we couldn’t have asked for more. Now we will always have the perfect photos to prive it. We were able to print pictures of people at our wedding and put them with each individual thank you.

Everyone has been blown away by your work and excited you were able to get a picture of them from that night. We are looking forward to seeing our wedding album come together and know it will be wonderful just like everything else.”

Tiffany chosen Volunteer of the Month by the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce

The Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce board chose Tiffany as their Volunteer of the Month for January 2012! She received the award at their board meeting today.

Ginny Fanning, president of the Chamber, said that Tiffany was chosen because she is a founding member of the Young Professionals Network, she regularly attends Business After Hours and Warmowski Photography participates in the Chamber Checks program.

We photographed Ginny’s daughter’s wedding in June 2010. Here is a blog post we did on Audra’s wedding theme and also one on her brother serving as her Man of Honor.

Congratulations, Tiffany!

Kristy Gebhardt says “the photography is the best choice we made”

wedding party dances, wedding photography in Virginia, Illinois by Warmowski Photography
The wedding party joins Kristy VanMeter and Ty Gebhardt during their first dance.

Soon after we photographed Kristy VanMeter & Ty Gebhardt’s wedding she sent us this note:

I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate everything you did. From the pictures that I know will be amazing, the pinning of my dress and just being there for anything else I may have needed. The day and night seemed to go off without a hitch. I was absolutely amazed with how my day was the best day of my life and I married my best friend. That night will be one of the most memorable nights of our life forever. For someone to please Ty says a lot, and you guys absolutely did that. . .

I had more fun that night than I have my whole life. I fell in love with Ty all over again and I think he did the same. Our relationship has the strongest bond ever right now and we both realized with our special day that we had the best thing that has ever happened to us. Ty loved you guys as did I (but I think that was obvious). We love how helpful you are and you have a sense of humor that puts the two of you over the top!!! We can’t wait to start our family and you can bet we will be calling you. We hope that the two of you had a good time and we will recommend you to everyone we know. I hope you stay in touch, as we enjoy talking with the two of you.

Wow! Thanks Kristy! After a couple e-mails and her seeing her photos, she emphasized the point, writing “the photography is the best choice we made.”

Kristy & Ty’s wedding day was a long one for us — exactly the kind of coverage we like to offer to our brides. Kristy chose our Package A, which includes a full day of photography, high-resolution images and a wonderful 40-plus page coffee table book. The day started out with Tiffany covering the action at the On The Clip Side salon in Jacksonville. We followed them to First Christian Church in South Jacksonville for more getting ready images as well as portraits before the ceremony.

A lot of work went into decorating the reception. The centerpieces were great and the chair covers and different colored bows added so much to the room (rented from the Beardstown Class of 2011). And as the sun went down and the room got darker, the many votive candles made for a very romantic feel.

Ty gets the better of Kristy as they have fun after sharing a piece of cake.
Despite a calf injury Kristy sustained earlier in the week, she was able to dance and enjoy the reception. One thing that helped was her choice of footwear. Even before her injury, Kristy had decided on gym shoes. Because of the fullness of her dress, nobody could even tell – and she was comfortable all day!
Kristy's Nike Shocks kept her comfortable all day.

We love to stay until the end of the night because we feel we are better able to tell the full story of the day. We have two super fast lenses (f1.4 & f1.2) and top-class cameras with high sensitivity (iso 6400 plus) so we can practically shoot in the dark! We followed Kristy & Ty out to their get-away vehicle to complete the story.

Kristy & Ty also had us do their engagement photos. During all our portrait sittings we start in the studio to get more traditional images. But we also like to create images that reflect the couple’s personality and their relationship – and that can’t always be done well in the studio. With Kristy & Ty we headed to Virginia High School to make photos at the ball diamond, where Ty is the head softball coach and Kristy is assistant coach. (Kristy also coaches volleyball). We also took some photos at Rexroat Prairie, a beautiful nature reserve on the south end of town.

Feeling like a celebrity

Julie said we could pass this on . . .

Steve and Tiffany,

After a whirlwind 10 days or so, I was finally able to sit down and look over all the wedding pictures…tears are streaming down my face. They are simply amazing! You captured so many moments – things I never saw or noticed that day, stories and people I might have forgotten about, and feelings that I do remember very clearly and never want to forget.  You helped tell the story of our wedding so beautifully and that means to the world to me!

I know you stayed longer than you had to, and did much more than take our pictures. This might be the way you run your business, but it really made us feel special. Tiffany, thank you for all your help – fixing my bustle, providing everything in that amazing emergency kit of yours, and being so attentive to all my bridesmaids.  Audrey even commented that she wanted you to stay and hang out at whatever time you could stop taking pictures! You are such a great person.

Steve, as you probably remember, Phil is not much of a picture person. Therefore, I knew he wouldn’t be as moved as I was to see the pictures from last Saturday. But you did get a reaction out of him that was pretty cool.  He said you “were everywhere” and several times mentions that he had no idea you were around for pictures like the ones taken before we entered Hamilton’s and some of those taken in the library. You really were everywhere – quietly going about capturing the best day of our lives.

Call me an emotional new bride, but I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful pictures, and for being so affordable. I’m sure we’ll be in touch in the coming weeks or month about what’s next and how to order. Until then, I will be clicking through all of them repeatedly, feeling sort of like a celebrity on your website 🙂

Thanks again,

Julie Wilkinson

Thanks for the kind words Julie!

Best decision ever

It was a blast covering Megan (Knocke) and Adam Wardlow’s wedding in Quincy this January. They had fun the whole day, and we’ve never seen so many people jamming the dance floor.

After their wedding we met to help plan their coffee table book. We asked for some feedback on our work, and Adam said hiring us was the “best decision ever.” Wow. What a compliment! It was our pleasure. And, I suppose you mean the best decision besides marrying Megan.

Their wedding was our first in Quincy. We’re located in Jacksonville and do most of our weddings here and in Springfield. But, we do many events in Chicago, St. Louis, and all around the state. We’re looking forward to our next wedding in Quincy this autumn, and hopefully many more in the future.

A summer of wonderful weddings

Thanks for taking a look at the new blog of WarmowskiPhotography.com.

I want to use this space as a resource of ideas for brides planning their weddings as well as to let former and current couples know what we’re up to! Enjoy!
