Dinner on the Titanic

Tiffany’s in Bloomington at the Vrooman Mansion this weekend. The innkeepers of the Vrooman Mansion, Pam & Dana, are hosting a “Tea on the Titanic” and “Dinner on the Titanic” Saturday and another “Tea on the Titanic” on Sunday to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.

It’s been a fun day of photographing people dressed up in Edwardian clothing and enjoying meals as if they were first class passengers aboard the Titanic. The Tea Ladies are doing a Titanic-themed program with audience participation at each event at the Mansion this weekend. They are both informative and entertaining.

Ladies enjoy Tea on the Titanic this afternoon at the Vrooman Mansion.

Those who enjoyed tea had the opportunity to get their photo taken. Dinner participants had a photo included in their ticket price.

Here's an example of one of the couples and the print they will take home when they leave tonight.

Warmowski Photography does more than weddings. This weekend in Bloomington, Illinois, along with the Vrooman Mansion and The Tea Ladies, we are commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Titanic disaster.

Love, marriage & Harley Davidson motorcycles

“It’s such a perfect day! If we weren’t getting married today, we’d probably be out on the bike!” – Michelle Cox on the way to see her groom on their wedding day.

Jordan’s Harley appeared in their engagement photos (see the last photo in this post) so it wasn’t a surprise that is showed up on their wedding day, too! And Michelle pulled off her idea of surprising Jordan with a Harley groom’s cake.

First look – Michelle & Jordan

About 60% of our couples opt to see each other before the ceremony to take photos before and to be able to go right to the reception following the ceremony. Michelle & Jordan decided to do their first look for their new years eve wedding at Washington Park in Springfield.

Jordan waits as Michelle makes her way up the stairs. Their bridal party and family were on hand to witness the happiness.
Michelle was very nervous while driving to the park, but I told her that after seeing Jordan, her nerves would subside a bit. She later told me they did.
None of the couples who have seen each other before the ceremony have regretted it (I try to ask each couple in the post-wedding meetings). Steve and I saw each other before the ceremony in order to take our portraits. Steve still cried when I walked down the aisle (oh- and so did I - and my daddy, too)

Sisters – it’s all in the details

Here are a few fun details from Michelle & Jordan’s December 31, 2011 wedding in Springfield, Illinois!

The beautiful tiara Michelle decided on for her wedding day.

Michelle bought a headband with sparkles and white feathers. She decided to use another headband on her wedding day, but her sister Karen took the original one and replaced the white feathers with black ones – to make her bridesmaid dress. Good idea ladies! Looks fantastic!

Michelle's sister, Karen, gave a touching - and funny- toast to her sister and the couple.
Michelle & Karen's matching tattoos say "older sister" and "younger sister." And be sure to notice their matching pedicures!

Michelle & Jordan were married at Laurel United Methodist Church in Springfield with their reception at the Artisans building on the grounds of the Illinois State Fairgrounds.

Tiffany chosen Volunteer of the Month by the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce

The Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce board chose Tiffany as their Volunteer of the Month for January 2012! She received the award at their board meeting today.

Ginny Fanning, president of the Chamber, said that Tiffany was chosen because she is a founding member of the Young Professionals Network, she regularly attends Business After Hours and Warmowski Photography participates in the Chamber Checks program.

We photographed Ginny’s daughter’s wedding in June 2010. Here is a blog post we did on Audra’s wedding theme and also one on her brother serving as her Man of Honor.

Congratulations, Tiffany!

Michelle & Jordan wedding highlights

Michelle & Jordan’s New Year’s Eve wedding was awesome! Here are some of our favorite images.

The sanctuary at Laurel United Methodist Church in Springfield was still beautifully decorated for Christmas.
Guests with sparklers aways make for a fun exit from the church!
They met on a golf course, so the favors at the reception were a given!
The midnight festivities were celebrated with noise makers, tiaras and glow bracelets.
The couple presented a toast to their family and friends right before midnight.
Happy new year!!!
Here's to a great 2012!

Michelle & Jordan’s wedding was catered by Hamilton’s and Brad Schroeder was the DJ.

The Classic Harpist recital in Jacksonville

A little bit off the subject of wedding photography, but our friends Devon & Jeff Haupt of The Classic Harpist will be presenting a harp recital as part of the Music Under the Dome concert series at the Jacksonville Public Library 201 West College Avenue Jacksonville, IL 62650 at 4pm Sunday January 29th. They will also be part of the Jacksonville Main Street Bridal & Prom Expo January 22nd.

The couple are fellow members of Springfield Local Favorites and have returned to Devon’s home of Central Illinois from the Chicago area. They have an impressive list of locations they performed recently: In Michigan — Four Winds Casino, New Buffalo; Comstock; Grand Rapids; Farmington Hills; Whitcomb Parlor, St. Joseph; Fore Lakes Golf Club, Kimball; & Battle Creek Country Club, Battle Creek. In Indiana — Valparaiso Country Club & Taltree Arboretum, Valparaiso; Granger; White Hawk Country Club, Crown Point; Midwest Museum of American Art, Elkhart; Columbia City; South Bend; & Benton House, Indianapolis. In Illinois – Cornerstone Building, Peoria; Mattoon; Quad Cities Botanical Gardens, Rock Island; Heritage Woods, Charleston; Pine Lakes Golf Course, Washington; Quail Creek Country Club, Robinson; Esplanade Lakes, Downers Grove; & Allerton Hotel, Chicago. And Tiffin, Ohio. See their list of top wedding ceremony music for 2011.

If you’re interested in harp music at your wedding or event, be sure to check them out and come to the recital or bridal expo for a preview. And, as you can see from above they (just like us) are more than happy to travel.

Monthly Springfield Local Favorites update

An update on Springfield Local Favorites, a group of the top wedding vendors in Central Illinois, who met at the Northfield Inn & Suites.

Group president Matthew Stevens of Stevens DJ Service told of how connections made within the group have paid off for Springfield brides. He was working four different weddings where the cake was not delivered (!) He called fellow SLF member Tammy of Specialty Cakes and asked her if she could help. She was able to pull a cake out of the fridge and quickly put one together to save the day. Another reception was being held up because the limousine had broken down (bad maintenance!) He called Party Time Limousine and they were able to quickly pick up the wedding party from the side of I-55 and bring them to the party.

Members heard a presentation by Kimber Leka, formerly of  wedding photography by Photofever (old site was www.photo-fever.com). Now she leads Leaving Hoofprints Youth Ranch in Springfield, Illinois. The organization saves abused horses, and uses them to give horsemanship and rides to struggling children. Springfield Local Favorites members are working on helping this program as a form of service to the community.

Members are getting ready for bridal shows, including this weekend’s WDBR bridal show at the Crowne Plaza and the Jacksonville Main Street Bridal & Prom Expo January 22nd. Get a list of 2012 central illinois Illinois bridal shows.

Other highlights from the meeting . . .

And don’t forget about Magical Event’s How To “I Do” seminar series, next event 2-4 pm Sunday January 15th, featuring a workshop with ideas to plan your wedding. Call 217.741.9850 or email to register.
