Springfield Illinois wedding photos by Warmowski Photography

One of our highlights from last year was when Amanda, whose wedding we photographed in the summer, took the microphone at the Springfield Local Favorites Bridal Bash at Northfield Inn and Suites and told all the brides what great photos and service she received from us. She said she didn’t have to worry about photos at all, and had a great time with us on her wedding day. Thanks Amanda!

Amanda and Luke had their ceremony at South Side Christian Church, 2600 S. MacArthur Boulevard, Springfield, IL 62704. Reception at Firefighters Postal Lake Club on Lake Springfield with catering by Hamilton’s Catering.

Part of the plans for our Springfield professional wedding photography was to photograph the couple on the running trail in Centennial Park where they met. With temperatures over 100° – we took a quick photo then jumped in the air-conditioned limo and headed to their health club for fun photos with the wedding party.

Other vendor note — flowers, centerpieces and decorating by Tom Anderson of An Event Design florists and event planning.

Wedding photography at Jacksonville Bridal Expo

Great to have been a part of the Jacksonville Main Street Bridal & Prom Expo this past weekend at Hamilton’s 110 North East. So nice to be able to meet brides and have time to talk in a relaxed atmosphere about our central Illinois professional wedding photography.

The highlight of the show was Girls in White Satin Bridal & Formal Wear’s bridal and prom fashion show. To see all the dresses and gowns, check out photos on our Facebook gallery.

Detail photos of downtown Chicago wedding at Ritz-Carlton

Our bride and groom Margie & Ken are getting their photos today of our downtown Chicago wedding photography at the Ritz-Carlton (Four Seasons) last weekend. We wanted to share some detail shots and links to some of the great wedding vendors who helped make the evening so wonderful . . .

Margie wore a gold sequin dress.

A string quartet from Rendezvous Music played contemporary music through the night, such as Viva La Vida by Cold Play and All You Need is Love by the Beatles. At one point I went over to Tiffany and joked it was like watching one of our favorite movies, Love Actually. Rendezvous Music provides live music for Chicago special events. Ken passed along the contact info for one of the performers, Katherine Hughes.

Margie wanted a white rose wedding bouquet, and the best she found was from Scot Steuber Florist & Greenhouses ezblooms.com in Chicago (773) 238-2013. They also decorated the event room at the Ritz-Carlton.

Also had fun photographing details of the intricate decorations around the hotel. The hotel also catered hors d’oeuvres and a wonderful dinner.

Nicole & Erik’s unique cake

Nicole & Erik were married Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Erin’s Pavilion at Springfield’s new Southwind Park. The cake design was something we had never seen before. Nicole said she saw the design in a book of ideas at Specialty Cakes and loved it. Here Tammy from Specialty Cakes decorates with flowers and greenery from An Event Design.

Chicago wedding roundup

Tarts and more from Sugar Hills Bakery warmowskiphoto.com
Wedding sweets from Sugar Hills Bakery.

We’ve made two trips to the Chicago area for weddings in the past three weekends, and just wanted to make a compilation of some wedding tips and vendors contacts . . .

  • For our Lake Zurich, Illinois wedding we came across some awesome food from “Something’s Cooking” Ltd of Des Plaines. Chef Ken Larsen and Chef Jim Pascolla offer custom catering and events, and cooked up shish kebobs, tri-colored ravioli and macaroni & cheese that everyone was raving about. Neat thing about the food was it didn’t have to be hot to be good (guests nibbled all night long). Web link above of 847.298.5002.
  • For our wedding in Arlington Heights / Palatine / Schaumburg we were quite impressed at the offerings of Hotel Bollero (recently renamed from Hotel Indigo). The meal was very high class, staff very attentive – a nice boutique hotel. Options for bridal shower menu, rehearsal dinner, day-after brunch (Quinceañera, too!) 847.359.6900. Sales & catering “in.bassador” is Kasia Piotrowski x.1629.
  • The bride told Marta Kulach of Design de Flores “I want ivory roses and I love hypricum berries” – and she was off. Results were stunning. 773.704.8200.
  • Not only a great red velvet wedding cake, but a tasty selection of deserts from Sugar Hills Bakery. 847.658.8765 Algonquin 847.541.4800 Wheeling.
  • Very professional music from John Coyne, Absolute Disc Jockey Chicago 866.687.4248.

Reception & decoration highlights – Erin & Greg

Erin & Greg's head table was decorated with their monograms. The brown circle table cloths over the white led the guests eyes right to the happy couple.
Instead of a traditional guest book, guests wrote messages to the couple on small cards and tied them to the tree branch at the table outside the dining room.
Erin & Greg's cake had the wedding colors on alternating tiers and used flowers as the topper. It was also decorated with a monogram.
Place cards kept with the wedding colors. The cards were stuck in a patch of grass - which continued the "earthy" theme of the wedding.
Guests found favors at each setting - a potted succulent they were encouraged to take home.
The centerpieces were varied and included cake stands, coffee beans and candles. Instead of table numbers, each table was given the name of a type of tree.
Erin & Greg's wedding stationary was handmade by Erin & her mother, Melissa. The earth tones carried through from the invitation and wedding program to the centerpieces and other decorations.
Eucalyptus and fiddlehead were used in the bridal bouquet as well as reception decor.
Erin & her mom, Melissa, celebrate how well everything came together after the months of planning.

Great wedding in Carrollton

Saturday, June 5 was the wedding of Hannah (Cunningham) and Joe Reed. Congrats on a fantastic day! Here are a FEW of the highlights (and there were MANY!)

I had to take a double-take when I waled by the gift table at Hannah & Joe's wedding. There were a dozen white roses WITH THEIR NAMES AND WEDDING DATE ON THEM!! I had never seen anything like this before. Apparently they know someone in Nebraska and used the Omaha location of Speaking Roses to get these roses. The Omaha location's web address is www.speakingrosesomaha.com. Speaking Roses' web address is www.speakingroses.com. Photo copyright Warmowski Photography 2010
Although severe weather was predicted for the area Saturday night, luckily it never materialized, outside of a bit of lightning late in the evening. Photo copyright Warmowski Photography 2010
The First Baptist Church in Carrollton was barely big enough to hold all of Hannah & Joe's guests! There are some seats in the front empty, of course, because those coming in later don't want to go up to the front. It was a cozy, but celebratory crowd. Steve took this photo from the elevated baptismal tub. Photo copyright Warmowski Photography 2010
Because their wedding reception was in a tent outside, they decided to use plastic cups for beverages. But instead of using an endless supply of disposable cups, there was a personalized plastic cup at each place setting. The couple put a note on each table encouraging people to use these cups during the evening so there would be less trash at the end of the night. Photo copyright Warmowski Photography 2010

Ring photos

When photographing a couple’s wedding rings, I try to think of something a bit more creative than just the “hand-over-hand” shot. I sometimes resort to putting the rings in the flowers of the bride’s bouquet, but I have been trying to do something more creative than that lately as well. A couple of the photos below are the result of remembering something someone said earlier in the day and incorporating it into the photo.
